The New CBR 1000RR C-ABS Blade Bike.

The New CBR1000RR "Blade is an incredibly compact machine for its power. All the machinery between the wheels has been packed as tightly as possible in order to keep the dimensions small and shave off a bit of weight. If you look at the older version of CBR parked a against a rising or setting sun, you would realize that a lot more light passed through its body. All the gaps have been closed, in order to attain better mass centralization and make it a more 'together' package.

  • In Profile, the new 'blade looks shorter than the '07 1000RR. Though the bike may look small courtesy the tighter packaging, it's still got a longer wheelbase than its '07 predecessor'.
  • The 'Blade is a phenomenal corner carver, but you have to set the bike up correctly especially while going downhill.
  • Inclusion of a slipper clutch ensures that the wheels don't lock up under vicious downshifts at high speed.
  • The exhaust note isn't too enticing. A valve makes sure that the smaller cavity lets the gases out till 6000rpm (8000 in the first two gears) after which it's joined in the act by the upper, bigger opening.
  • The ultra slim rear of the bike gives it a fragile look
  • The 'Blade isn't the best bike to tour on. That diminutive tank is made of plastic, so magnetic tank bags won't work on it.
  • The Honda emblem on the new 1000RR has a retro air about it. Looks smashing!
  • Unlike most engine kill switches, the one on the new 'Blade employs two buttons instead of one for the function.
  • Digital readout displays a host of useable information like average and real time fuel efficiency and range.
  • The fairing is a tad too small to deflect wind efficiently at high speeds.
