Honda to launch a 100CC bike in India.

Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer Honda and its Indian partner Hero Honda, the world's largest producer of two-wheelers are looking at further strengthening their - 25-year-old partnership. When Honda forayed into India, they initially had plans to sell scooters only with Hero Honda concentrating on motorcycles. However, seeing the India market scenario, HMSL entered the motorcycle segment as well. Currently HMSL and HHML share a supply chain and details related to production capacity,. It is now known that both companies may look at sharing details of new products with each other including engines, design sequences and vehicle platforms. Honda, which has been witnessing a rather huge growth in the Indian market, is also looking at the number game by launching a mass product later this year. Currently, Honda doesn't have a presence in the 100cc segment though company officials have confirmed the launch by Dec '09' or Jan '10'. Apart from this, the Japanese giant is also looking at adding no less than for to five new products to their product portfolio in the next three years.
